the Author
Phillip G. Clampitt, Ph.D. is a Professor of Organizational
Communication and Information Sciences at the University of
Wisconsin - Green Bay. His work has been published in a variety
of journals including Management Communication Quarterly,
the Journal of Business Communication, Communication World,
Journal of Broadcasting, and the International Journal
of Communication Management. He is also a recognized expert
on communication assessments. He has conducted over 100 communication
audits and has written chapters for two books on the subject
in the Handbook of Communication Audits for Organisations
(edited by Owen Hargie and Dennis Tourish) and Communication
Audits by Cal Downs. In addition, Professor Clampitt founded
MetaComm, a communication consulting firm that has worked
with many companies including TWA, Appleton Papers, Schneider
National, Medalcraft Mint, Dean Foods, and Boldt Construction.
His firm specializes in assessing, analyzing, and resolving
communication problems in organizations.
