About the
Author
Dr. Phillip Clampitt received his Ph.D. in organizational communication
from the University of Kansas and Masters from Texas State University.
He is the Hendrickson Professor of Business at the University of
Wisconsin-Green Bay in the Information Sciences Program. Phil has
consulted on communication issues with a variety of service and
manufacturing organizations, such as Pepsico, American Medical Security
and The Boldt Company (view our list
of clients). His book, Communicating
for Managerial Effectiveness (3rd edition) is a best-seller
for Sage Publications. His other recent book, Embracing
Uncertainty: The Essence of Leadership (with Robert DeKoch,
also translated in Italian)
focuses on one of the greatest challenges facing leaders today-the
effective management of uncertainty. In 2003, Guerini published
an Italian version of the book. Phil has published in various journals
including: Academy of Management Executive, Journal of Change
Management, Ivey Business Journal, Journal of Communication Management,
Journal of Business Communication, Management Communication Quarterly,
Journal of Broadcasting, and Communication World. His
work on uncertainty management was also featured in the Sloan
Management Review.
